On Friday, September 30, 2023, political scientist Milan Aleksić and clinical psychologist Dragana Ćuk Milankov from NGO Atina spoke at a panel dedicated to “Prevention of sexual exploitation and prostitution in Serbia,“ organized within the Days of the Forum of Judges of Serbia. This event took place from 28 to 30 September in Sombor and represents the third expert-judicial consultation intended for judges and other professionals from the judiciary.
The second training for journalists and media representatives on ethical and fact based reporting on trafficking in human beings was held on April 11, 2022 in Belgrade. Until now, a total of 43 journalists from all over Serbia have successfully completed this training. All participants had the opportunity to expand their knowledge about the phenomenon of human trafficking, gender sensitivity of this problem, hear about the main trends and statistics in this area, rights of victims, but also about proactive role of media and journalist in preventing human trafficking.

Child Rights Centre and NGO Atina Begin Implementing the Project “Empowering Children to Recognise and Report Trafficking in Human Beings in the Republic of Serbia”
In the period from January to the end of October of this year, 38 victims of trafficking in human beings, including 10 girls, were officially identified in Serbia. Professionals dealing with this topic warn that the number of victims is much bigger because the statistics include only the ones detected and identified.
