Youth group of the Vranje theatre performed a segment of the play “Koštana”, written by Borisav Stanković and directed by Dragan Živković Durget. The performed segment vividly describes forced marriage through a tragic fate of the main female character who is married off against her will. Performance was organized by the Local Anti-Trafficking Team of the City of Vranje in partnership with the NGO Atina, and in cooperation with the theatre “Bora Stanković”.
Recognizing criminal offense of human trafficking in Vranje
Local team for prevention and combating human trafficking organized a training on May 10, 2019, in Medical High School “Dr Isabel Emslie Hutton“ in Vranje, intended primarily for the expert workers and associates of elementary schools and high schools, representatives of the Local team for prevention and combating human trafficking of the city of Vranje, and other relevant actors in charge of early detection and provision of assistance and protection to potential victims of human trafficking.
During December 2018, NGO ATINA has continued with activities from the project “With and for girls” in cooperation with Youth Offices from Obrenovac, Jagodina, Novog Pazar, Kikinda and Vranje, though trainings/seminars/workshops on gender equality. The training was attended by high school girls interested in contributing to the improvement of position of girls and the promotion of gender equality in their respective communities with the support of Youth Offices.
A representative of Belgrade Citizens’ Association Atina Andrijana Radojcic has stated on Thursday in Vranje that the Local network in Vranje is an example of work at local level and how to combat human trafficking.
Local network in Vranje publishes second monitoring report
Meeting of Local Network for prevention and combating human trafficking of City of Vranje, that is part of the the project “Building Together – Community Monitoring and Advocacy”, was held on April 16, 2018 in Vranje.
Members of the Local network in Vranje completed the training on monitoring at the end of November. During the two days of work, 24 participants were introduced to the monitoring matrix, as well as each of the segments of the monitoring system dealing with refugees and migrants in Vranje.
The Local network in Vranje is made up of representatives of the health, education, social system, as well as civil society, Commissariat for Refugees and Migration, Red Cross, National Employment Agency, and municipal administration.
